“By instant dialling of a wrong USSD, I sent all my ksh 137,000 Mpesa money to a conman” A Kenyan woman speaks

A Keyan business woman who sales popularly known as mitumba in Gikomba market has come out and recalles how she got into an easy trap of fraudsters who scammed her clean ksh 137,000. She says the money was from her sale of several bales. She had saves the money into her Mpesa. That evening she was really tired due to her job nature. She received a mesage to her phone with a unique USSD code where without assertively thinking she dialled, where she lost all her money.

“I knew my Mpesa had zero balance three hours later. I could not believe just what had happened. All my hard earned cash was all gone. I took an OB from Gikomba police station a day later but due to the slow acting of men in uniform, I completly lost hope,” She said.
She never told her husband of what had just happened. She pretended everything wad indeed in order. With this hard economy in Kenya, she told herself that the conman must be a lucky person to have just received good ksh 137k, money he never worked for. From a Facebook post, she came through articles of Dr Mugwenu solving such cases. This is after a happy client was thanking him for helping recover his lost ksh 200k in a similar case.
