My brother Caleb Omondi has already attempted suicide three times since the turn of the year. The most recent of those, is when his young son saw him hanging in his bedroom, legs kicking and eyes engorged in pain. He screamed in terror as I ran in just in time before he could kick the bucket. He had to be hospitalized for almost a week to recover. He has also previously drank poison, rat poison at night.

Luckily for him, his wife, Nanjala Wekesa Omondi, found him on the floor, his mouth foaming and unconscious. She gave him a pint of milk and called in a nurse, who lives a block away. The world was….CONTINUE READING
