I was treated to teargas by the police trying to defend my boss’s Mpesa shop which is located at CBD, Nairobi, only to be fired days later. It was during a time of ugly protests, and despite my painful journey, my boss still went ahead and fired me. I felt lost and betrayed, wondering how I would make ends meet.
