From Selling Boiled Eggs in the Streets to Owning Large Eggs Depot in Mombasa….Mombasa Man Narrates Life Journey

I’m Bismarck Mwachonda, 30, born and raised in Mombasa. Each and every day, I would wake up early in the morning to look for eggs at the eggs depot from Kisauni, Mombasa. While people would laugh at me, I did not let disappointments ruin my bigger goal of the day owning a big eggs depot. I only started with one tray of eggs. While selling the boiled eggs, some of my customers inspired me to introduce selling smokies and sausages, but because I had insufficient funds I was unable to introduce the sausages and smokies in my business. The business was well in as much as I realized small profits from the business, it was so outstanding as I was able to provide food on my table and I could also save some amount. After about four months of hitting the market the business started to depreciating as I started realizing increased losses that almost led to the closure of the business.

The realization of loss was a result of increased taxation imposed to the eggs and other related products like tomatoes, onions, chilly, pepper among others. But this did not stop me from pushing on with my business and instead started looking for ways to expand the business into a large scale retail trade. My efforts of finding an amicable solution led me to social media where I was introduced to Dr.Mugwenu, who helped me expand my business.
