My name is Lydiah Kioko, a 26-year-old single mother from Machakos. First, let’s acknowledge a simple fact: most of us dedicate a lot of time rectifying the mistakes we made in out teenage years. Those times when we felt invincible, indestructible and immortal. We deliberately ignore the advice from our parents, thinking their time is over, they should just shrink and die. I was one of those teenagers, who fully embraced adolescence and peer pressure. At the tender age of 17, I was pregnant. My schooling was interrupted and then soon stopped. Many a times, doubts kill dreams. Let me tell you, there is nothing more damaging than indecisiveness. Sitting on the fence and doing nothing is useless. If you see an opportunity, take it.
