Mama Brayo, as many called her couldn’t hold back her tears when it became apparent that her son, Brian Kimani,is missing. She had organized a search that lasted four hours without anything as much a footstep of him found. At around 2pm, she received the worst piece of news possible; her son had been kidnapped and the perpetrators wanted Kshs. 1 million if she wanted to see her son alive and in one piece. Her heart sank when she realized she didn’t have the money. She lived alone in Thogoto after her husband perished last year in a car bombing by Al-shabbaab militants in Mandera where he was a police officer. She is yet to receive any kind of compensation from the government, as her husband died under the call of duty. Her small business in Thogoto dealing with Stationery and Books Collections had been sustaining her and her 4-year-old son.
Mama Brayo was always nicely dressed and was blessed with killer curves and long hair, maybe that was why the kidnappers thought she was loaded with cash. But, really she was just doing her best to get by and make a living. They called her with those frightening demands and hanged up as soon as she started begging them to let go of her innocent child. Her sorrow grew when everyone she contacted had no money to help her. She was on her own. Her eyes were swollen from crying for so long. The thought of losing her son was making her weaker by the minute. Teresia Muthoni, her neighbor and best friend cooked rice but she couldn’t eat it. After the first spoonful, she broke down and cried once more, remembering how she used to feed Brian rice, which he used to love so much.
Noticing how beaten and desolate her friend was,Teresia made a few phone calls to seek help on her behalf. A friend suggested they contact a traditional herbalist from Vihiga called Dr. Mugwenu. Upon hearing this, she responded quickly and called him through 0740637248. They contacted the police, who responded in kind and found the two thugs in a small mud house on the outskirts of Thogoto. They quickly pounced on them and arrested them for further questioning. She was so happy to have found him alive and well. Brian too looked excited to be reunited with his mother.
“Mugwenu Doctors have made me whole again. Thank you for your assistance. I recommend them to anyone out there with a similar problem” she said.
