Webuye; A group of four men were spotted whipping and kicking a corpse after the car they were transporting it stopped in the middle of nowhere. Here’s why
It was a scene to behold!! Four men dressed in black were spotted along a highway in Webuye kicking and whipping a corpse while insulting it. It was the kind of violence that would otherwise land someone in court, as if the intention was to kill the body, again. Details emerged that the body in question was picked from Nakuru to be buried in Western, Bungoma. But, somehow, out of nowhere, and in the middle of nowhere, the car stopped abruptly. The engine was indeed running but it wouldn’t move. Two guys brought the body down, had a conversation with it and then attacked it with everything they had.
In a culture where we are accustomed to sending off the dead with respect and dignity, this was a sendoff full of prowess and impunity. After what seemed like half an hour of a one-sided fight, they put it back. They only managed to move for like 20 meters, after which like the corpse, things went dead. They looked at each other, sweat all over and began an inspection of the car. Maybe there was something wrong with the engine. There wasn’t. The engine was fine, the oil was of quality and the driver had decades of experience. It must be the dead body then. What to do? Aren’t the dead supposed to stay dead?
