After his arrest for allegedly absconding with a car from a Nairobi car stand, Kamau denied the allegation, saying that he only took the car to Thika for business while on a test-drive. The culprit said he decided to use the car quickly when the dealer, who sat in the passenger seat during test-driving, didn’t return quickly after going to get cash to buy fuel in a filling station.
The poor Kamau with poor robbery tactics had nowhere to go as he got stuck in the busy Thika road. The car did not open or even the engine start until the car dealer arrived at the scene after being alerted by the police. The car dealer identified Kamau who had tried to escape with the car as the two were at a gas station.
“I knew he was going nowhere, as I have protected my property from such calamities. This is not the first person to try to steal from me.
