A Kenyan woman recalls how she got into trouble with her mother-in-law
Mother-in-laws come in all shapes and sizes. At times fighting her is impossible since you’ll never win the battle since she was there before you. Evelyn had been going through hell with her mother in law for quiet some time and she wondered why her husband never talked about it. “From my experience what I see, and from what I have heard from friends, only two or three out of tem mother-in-laws are good. She would wake me up in the morning t start domestic chores even when I was with my husband in the house something I never liked.”
She said most of the times she ignored him something and she would feel disrespected but according to Evelyn she had no option as she saw how her mother-in-law was crossing her lanes most of the times. Each time she told her husband how her mother was downgrading her but her husband listened more of what her mum had been saying and doing to his wife. Within not time they had even started abusing each other with her mother-in-law which was a taboo to many African communities.
Things had fallen apart as they never faced each other.
