My name is Mama Esther, I am 40 years old and I have seen many things in this life. I have cooked for men who walked away, cried on pillows until morning, and prayed until my knees became rough. I used to ask God, “Why can’t love stay with me?”

I got married for the first time when I was only twenty-two. I was full of dreams, hoping to build a home and raise children. But after three years, my husband changed. He began to shout, to disappear for days, and finally he left. People said, “Maybe you are cursed.” I believed them.
