Single mother who built Four houses at the age of 30 says the society accused her of being Freemason, she narrates the source of her achievement

A Kenyan woman from Gilgil born in a poor family disclosed how she was judged by the society after building four houses. Gentrix Walubengo stated that fingers started pointing at her when she built her first house for her mother in the village. According to Gentrix those who knew she had grown up in poverty wondered how she was able to afford to build a house. “Every time I would go and buy things, people would tell their friends to avoid me claiming that I was into Freemason,” she said.
Gentrix posits that people with such kind of thinking capacity always believe if one is born into poverty, they should live and die poor. Born in Nakuru, the 30-year-old was lucky to be employed by the one of the leading private hospitals in Kenya, as a clinical officer. This is after along struggle looking for employment after she also struggled to finish her university education and graduated. Her breakthrough however, came when she resigned from the hospital as a clinical officer and got self-employment.

“The main reason why I left the profession early was that the salary was too low and I needed to do more with my life,” Gentrix said. Soon after she resigned, she generated more money which made her rich and went ahead building the first house for her parents, as a gift to her parents in appreciation for their work towards raising her up. She built her own two houses in Gilgil and another rental property in Nakuru.
