The ongoing Azimio protests have been characterized with vandalism. Some people are taking an added looting advantage. Many shops have been vandalized and stolen. James Obiero like was a peaceful demonstrator but he suddenly turned to be a thief. He said that particular day he saw a shop broken and people were running helter-skelter with different items. He remembered his situation way back home, where he had nothing even to feed, hence joining the looting team.

He managed to loot house hold commodities worth ksh 50, 000 which he ferried them home with a hired boda boda. Days later things were not the same. It began with a mere stomach ache. All his family from his wife to their three children were seldom having a nap. To him, he would hear weird voices and someone strangling him to death and threatening him to return the stolen items.

“I had not even used any of the items. I hurriedly returned the items for peace to reign in my family,” he said. The owner of the retail shop seeked the services of Dr Mugwenu as he told the large masses who had gathered to witness the drama. Obiero was not the only one who returned but there were other 10 men.
