In a strange story, a pair of thieves returned a five goas that they had stolen after a herbal doctor cast a spell them confused and feed on grass. The bizarre case was reported on Monday during Azimio protest in the city of Kisumu when Lilian Atieno noticed that someone had taken the livestock from her property.
Although she reported the theft to police, it would seem that the woman did not want to wait for authorities to track down the culprits and, as such, enlisted a witch doctor to administer some supernatural justice on her behalf. A day later, authorities were stunned when two men stumbled into the local police station with the stolen the goats and a painful predicament that was literally on their hands.
According to Atieno, the ne’er-do-wells had been trying to sell the stolen goats at a local market in Nyakach area when they suddenly found themselves feeding on grass. The pair headed to the local police station with the animal, confessed to the crime, and begged for helpl. Connecting the stolen goats to Atieno, cops called the woman, who revealed that she had hired a witch herbal doctor to help retrieve the goats and, apparently, his spell was a success.
While the odd account of crime and justice might sound like some kind of local scuttlebutt, a rather unsettling video from Kisumu shows one of the thieves marching towards the police station with his hands holding grass and other green vegetation and then wailing in agony outside of the building as he ate grass.
Amazingly, they were finally able to find relief after police called the herbal man Dr Mugwenu through a phone who reversed the poweful spells. Although everything seemed to work out for Atieno, local officials have asked residents to seek herbal services as some criminals needs to be tamed especially with the current rise of theft cases brought as a result of protests.
