Mwea village in Kirinyaga county is where a large crowd of people gathered to witness this shocking news action from a man who was stealing maize. It’s from this village where Daniel Mathenge comes from, he was born and raised here. He’s now 27years of age. He was born in a rich family which had a large number of assets. Daniel started his early childhood education when he attained the age required to start his education. He was a nice guy who everyone admired to be with due to his respect and intelligence. He proceeded nicely in his entire education until when was about 14 years, he lost his parents through a road accident. His parents used to take him to and back from school before getting to their respective jobs.
Both his parents were employed. As his parents were getting back after taking their son to school, they were involved in a horrendous road accident which involving their car and a matatu. Four died on the spot while other two died while being taken to the hospital. The affected from the accident included Mathenges parents who were on the verge of losing their lives, they were admitted and attended to by doctors. They were hospitalized for a long time and the hospital bill raised up by a big margin. Almost all the money was used, Mathenge while in school was informed that all his parents had passed.
On hearing the news Mathenge fainted, after some applications of first aid he was on his feet up running towards the hospital to confirm the news on the demise of his parents. All the money was used in paying the hospital bills for his parents. Nothing was left behind other than the assets belonging to his parents. He decided to sell all of them in order to arrange the funeral. Mathenge was pessimistic after the burial of his parents because he had nobody to look after him as he was the only kid. His life changed and became miserable, he never thought of being in such a situation. He started associating himself with bad companies who mislead him entirely.
He started involving himself in crime cases, one day a nearby neighbor started complaining on his maize being stolen in his farm. The behavior continued and reports were now circulating that it was Mathenge who steals the neighbors’ maize. The news that shocked many. Mathenge was asked about this weird behavior but he declined. The neighbor was directed to consult Dr.Mugwenu to help him catch the person responsible for stealing his maize.
