A gang comprising of M-Pesa, Swim-Swap and Online Scamming were exposed over the weekend after a tip of led to a native doctor intervening and exposing them. Led by a notorious criminal operating as a fake police officer, dressed in their full attire from top to bottom, only referred to as “Generali”, residents of Kisumu have not known peace, getting scammed millions, with their operational base unknown. New details have since emerged, portraying them as both dangerous and cruel, some of whom have actually served several sentences in prison and have pending arrest warrants.
On that fateful Sunday afternoon, one of the members of the gang, known as “Big Sam” had attempted a snatch and grab on a woman who had withdrawn a little over Kshs. 100,000 from two M-Pesa shops, oblivious that she was being followed by the big guy. He did manage to snatch her handbag and went into hiding at their bedsitter at Babadogo area.
