I wish to share what happened to me in November 16.At about 9 am I received a call from a friend in Nairobi who told me the supplier of charcoal has been found. I used to live with Ken in Kayole in 2009 but I relocated to Naivasha after I got a job there. In 2011 I lost my job and decided to venture into business.
Since then we have been in close contact with Ken and in September this year I told him that I was looking for someone who would supply me with charcoal from Kitui.He assured me that he will get someone.
Two months later he called me and connected me to a man he said was in Kitui.I talked to him and he told me he has 50 sacks of charcoal.Each sack was going for Ksh 400.Since I didn’t know him,I channeled Ksh 22,000 to Ken and told him to go to Kitui and confirm the charcoal is available. I didn’t know my friend could betray me.
Immediately I sent the money,I called to confirm whether Ken had received it.What shocked me is that the phone wasn’t going through. I called again and again and the results were the same.I decided to borrow a phone from a friend to call, surprisingly,it went through. When Ken heard my voice, he cut it off immediately and blocked the number. I knew there was something wrong.
What messed me up was the fact that I didn’t know any of my friend’s family members but I thought he was still living in Kayole.I said enough is enough and traveled to Nairobi to look for him.
The following morning I was in Kayole.While trying to look for him, nobody confirmed they knew someone by the name Ken.Dejected,I moved back to Naivasha.
