I bought a consignment worth sh 8 Million from China. I am a large scale dealer in electronics based in Kampala, Uganda.
My name is Robinson from Uganda and I also have other outlets in Nairobi, and Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania which deals in electronics. I am a large scale dealer who imports the stock straughyt from China.
Last month, I imported goods worth sh 8 Million from my supplier and waited for the consignment to arrive as usual, but after two weeks still the consignment had not arrived in Mombasa. I called my supplier in China to find out what could have happened along the way and he assured me that he had sent the container. He told me to check with my customs office; and when I went to Mombasa to check, the officers told me that it had arrived but they couldn’t trace it.
They told me to give them 4 days as the try to comp through documents to see where and who else could have cleared the consignment. After the 4 days, I rung them and they told me yes the consignment was in Kenya but someone must have mistakenly or deliberately took it.
