A man identified as Benson- not his real name based in Nairobi shared his story on how he has been in a toxic marriage for such a long time. He said that earlier he had been in a marriage where his wife was not respectful of their marriage life. She would cheat on him and even after trying to confront, nothing changed. He added that she once accused him of rape, something that made him get arrested and sentenced for a year.
“It was indeed painful for my wife to accuse me of rape. This was someone I was in love with. That particular day I saw police officers I our compound and wondered what was going wrong. She told them that she was not my wife and I was tempting to tape her. It was taken to court and I was sentenced for a year,” he said.
When he got back from prison, he chose to live his life and forget about the woman who had been making his life miserable.
