A Kenyan woman recalls how she got into trouble with her mother-in-law

Mother-in-laws come in all shapes and sizes. At times fighting her is impossible since you’ll never win the battle since she was there before you. This was the same experience that Evelyn had with her mother-in-law. Everyone values marriage and. After going through grueling experiences in relationships, and even at times tasking time off, there is nothing as expecting as coming by a man or woman with the right qualities for marriage. Evelyn had been going through hell with her mother in law for quiet some time and she wondered why her husband never talked about it. “From my experience what I see, and from what I have heard from friends, only two or three out of tem mother-in-laws are good. My mother in law happened to be in the bad category. She is the reason we have been having a lot of wrangles with my husband. She would wake me up in the morning t start domestic chores even when I was with my husband in the house something I never liked.”

She said most of the times she ignored him something and she would feel disrespected but according to Evelyn she had no option as she saw how her mother-in-law was crossing her lanes most of the times. Each time she told her husband how her mother was downgrading her but her husband listened more  of what her mum had been saying and doing to his wife. Within not time they had even started abusing each other with her mother-in-law which was a taboo to many African communities.

Things had fallen apart as they never faced each other.
