I struggled in life but now I own my business

Josphat a third year student pursuing an undergraduate degree in education at one of the most popular universities in Kenya is the first born in the family of seven children.He is the only one at university. His two younger brothers are standard eight candidates,while the older ones are either married or have dropped out of school.He was lucky to have a sponsor who paid for his secondary education. That is how he ended up securing a slot at the university.

“I came from humble background.Both my parents brew and sell liquor to survive. That is what raised me and the other six.usually when they got ksh 500, they would send it to me, then I had to wait for another two weeks or three before they get some more to send,”He lamented. His parents business was not a legit one and most of the times the police would arrest them which meant at times he would have no one to send him money and so this meant starvation.He really felt he was never fitting the university life as other students who came from good backgrounds had been really having a good life at the institution.

He started saving the little he had been getting from his helb loan.He would save at least ksh 2000 which he said he would do some business just after graduating as he never liked the life his parents had been living. Just after graduating, he had saved some ksh 35’000 which he went straight to open a milk selling ATM where he took the it on a loan terms where he would pay slowly till the appliance was his fully. The first few weeks in the business, things were really going good as he would make an average of ksh 900 per day from the milk sells.

Each moment he remembered how his parents sold and brew liquor to support her university education and he never lost hope as one day he knew he was to be their poverty savior.He had really make a lot of links with different people and so almost everyone knew him.
